The second step is optional, but just as important. Minerals, limescale stains and other types of dirt can often settle on the bodywork of the car that the alkaline pre-wash is unable to remove. In these cases, it is useful to use an acid cleaner, which dissolves the contamination and makes the surface more shiny. Acidic cleaners can also restore the performance of a worn-out nano-coating or sealant. We prefer to use them mixed in the bucket or as a foam pre-wash. During this stage, it can be helpful to use a brush to remove dirt from emblems, seals and other hard-to-reach parts.
